Softball tournament/ Fall Fun

My sister and her husband came up with the awesome idea to have a softball tournament to help us raise adoption funds. It went wonderfully!! We were so blessed to be able to add about $1000 to our adoption. We had such a fun day, and it was such a humbling feeling to have so many people gathered together just to help us out. How blessed we were.

Fall is upon us! It has been pretty hot here- until today. Maybe we will officially enter cooler temps now???

The boys have enjoyed picking up pecans in the yard and cracking them on the back porch.

We have been enjoying lots of fresh veggis from the fall garden. (via Danny's and Mr. Paul's work. I simply reap the benefits. Hopefully I will be able to be more hands on in that area one day!) Turnips and turnip greens, mustard greens, squash, green beans and lettuce. There is cabbage, garlic, and tomatoes on the way!

A rooster trapped in the backyard.

Lots of squirrels have been busy eating up pecans all over the yard.

The chickens Josiah and Isaac raised from chicks are now laying lots of eggs as well.
The boys are having a blast collecting eggs, and are working on raising up another brood.

More pics to come soon-

I am so glad that the tournament went well! I hate that we had to miss it~ had every intention of coming, but had to make a flying trip to H'burg to take a vehicle to Sarah so she could make her classes this week. All these pics are amazing~ the veggie plate looks delicious! :)
