The last week was truly nuts in our town. Most people have moved out lots of (or all of) their furniture and belongings, or at least their sentimental items- as a pre-caution for the flood. We have moved our cows and pictures, antiques, family heirlooms, but all of our couches and beds, etc remain. We aren't moving that stuff as of right now. My husband, who runs an insurance office- has been very busy at work with flood insurance calls and estimates. Amidst all of the chaos, somehow we still are truly at peace with this entire situation. We are praying- and just simply know regardless of what takes place, our God has our backs.
We had been planning on going to the beach with my mom for a couple of months now- and the boys have been very geared up for this treat long before the flood threats. We are still heading to the beach for a week of enjoying each other and the ocean. There is no sense in sitting around watching the river rise or fall.
We are waiting on the news that our dossier is approved or in need of revisions. In the meantime, we are reviewing the files of several little girls on the Waiting Angels list. It has been a very heart breaking experience so far. There are so many kids who need homes; So, so many. They all need a miracle. They all need someone to love them and show them the love of the Father. It really hurts to look through these files, read each child's story- every one has brought me to tears. We need clear direction from the Lord. This is an area where we need serious prayer. God has directed our steps along this path so clearly- we are praying for Him to direct us to the next step.

God will give you peace as you find "your" daughter! I know He will. I also know it has to be agonizing viewing those waiting. I used to agonize just picking an "angel" from the Salvation Army tree~ just because I hated that I couldn't just buy them all something. But I changed things for one and that's what you're going to do. We can not save them all~ Jesus said the poor would always be with us. You are doing more than most. You will rescue at least one. We'll just have to pray for as many others as possible to get adopted, too.
