So it was just Camila, Isaac, and I.
This was the first year our kids have ever dyed Easter eggs, or we've even been a part of an Easter egg hunt! We have always tried to be clear with our kids about what Easter is really all about, and we never want anything to trump that Easter is the day that Jesus rose from the dead. Our kids have really never felt disappointed that we didn't participate in those things. They still got goodies in celebration of Resurrection day, but we focused solely on that. While our focus hasn't changed at all, this year we decided to dye eggs and join in on a family egg hunt. We had a great time!
Sunday morning Josiah was rather sad that he slept through decorating eggs!

After church we went to my grandparents house and enjoyed a yummy southern meal, and some games!
It was pouring down rain, and by the time we finally got to take pictures, Camila's hair had been soaked, and she had tossed her shoes aside! Oh well!
When it's pouring down rain you can use your Easter buckets for rain hats!
The egg hunt had to take place on my grandparent's porch because of the bad weather. It was still fun!
Isaac and Josiah thought I was slowing them down to get them to stop hunting for a picture. They both were determined to find the prize egg!
It was a great day with family!

Awwww! My kids' childhood Easter memories were egg hunts at my Nannie and Poppa's house. They loved it! I'm sorry Josiah slept through the egg dying. Maybe next year... Or you could do them again, just for fun. My Poppa swore that no stuffed eggs were as good as the ones made with dyed eggs on Easter. I used harlee's for stuffed ones this year. I really couldn't tell the difference. ;) But it did make me think of Poppa. :)
