Family Day Celebration

This weekend we had a family day celebration in honor of our Peruvian princess, Camila. She has now been our precious daughter for one year! While I was in Peru, I bought about 18 small gifts from Peruvian culture, and each year when we celebrate our family day for Camila, she will get one of these gifts.

A dear friend gave Camila this crown as a gift, and we're going to let Camila wear it each year on her family day. She loved it! She loved for us to keep calling her Princess Camila, and she'd grin ear to ear!

The kids wore their pajamas for the celebration!

Homemade yellow cake with poured fudge frosting...It was a hit!

Te quiero mi familia!

One year!!

A bracelet from the Indian market in Lima

We ended the night by telling the story of how the Lord directed us to go to Peru and adopt. We told about the two years of praying and waiting until we finally were able to meet her face to face. We showed pictures of the trip to Peru to Camila and our other children. We all reminisced about our wonderful adventure in Peru, and how the people and culture changed us forever.

It is our desire for Camila to grow up knowing what a treasure she is. That she has the miraculous story of her adoption, one that took place against all odds, ingrained in her heart as an affirmation of God's great love for her.

We love you Princess Camila Cakes!
